Description
Design thinking is a process used to develop new models of school design, instruction or behavioral response. Through the design process, teams identify the problem, determine root cause, and design solutions that align to the root cause. Solutions are based in a rigorous research analysis while also fostering an innovative, self-determined connection to the solution. This ensures maximum commitment from the designers and ultimately those responsible for implementation of the new solution.
Through their engagement, teams develop a high degree of ownership. Additionally, the outcome is guaranteed to align with available research in addressing the root cause of a variety of issues.
In addition to root cause analysis, the design process can assist a team in developing an entirely new model of education for the purpose of innovation and experimentation. GEIG believes strongly in the experimentation process and hopes that through this process, new models of education can be developed and ultimately scaled.
